Mysteries of DNA

I heard recently that scientists have discovered the name of God written in our DNA. At first I thought, "how cool is that!" Then I did a little more investigating and found that it is more than just cool, it is ASTONISHING!

In the video I found, the scientist explained that the two outside strands, the curved bits, come from our parents. One side is from the mother, the other is from the father. The straight bits that connect these curved bits each represent a different number, but the number pattern is repeated. I think I am saying this right. The pattern is 4 numbers repeated in the same order. When they matched each number with a letter of the Hebrew alphabet it spelled the name of God in the Hebrew.

Did you just get chills? I did the first time I heard it. I saw another video where the presenter said, "Imagine walking on a beach. The sand is soft, white and pristine, there are no other foot prints. As you continue walking along the shore you come across words written in the sand. It is a message that says, "I Love You." Where did it come from? Maybe you look around to see if you can find the person who wrote it. You know it had to be written by someone, but where are their footprints? Who wrote it? Did they come out of the ocean, write the words, then go back into the ocean?"

He continued on to explain that computer programmers know that it takes code to write a program. Each line of code has a specific purpose. When the code is perfect and is read by the computer, the program works as it was designed. The proof that we are created is written in our programming, or our DNA.

The first proof is that the program is so complex that there is no way it could have just happened. Just like the writing in the sand. We may not be able to see the footprints of the one who wrote it, but we know it was written by an intelligent being and did not just appear when the tide receded. From the time of conception to the time of our death our DNA controls every aspect of who we are from our hair color to our personality traits. It is all there. It is a masterful program that is so complex and perfect, to believe it to be an accident is just plain foolishness.

Second, examining the DNA further you see that the programmer put his name directly into the code. Not only this, it is the binder between parental genetics! Are you amazed yet? God has been inside of us ALL THIS TIME! We are the image of God - Father, Mother & Spirit are written into our DNA.

I once heard a pastor talk about the God-void we have when we are without Christ in this world. There is a hole in each of us that we try to fill with anything and everything. It is only when that hole is filled with the Holy Spirit, do we find peace. That is when God becomes part of our lives again. The part that was designed from the very beginning in our DNA. The message is written "I Love You". The one who wrote it is just waiting for you to reach out and be filled with that love.

Imagine Jesus at a heavenly computer writing the code that will become you. Imagine him signing each of us with his special signature. The only ingredient in this signature that cannot exist until we ask for it, is the Holy Spirit. It is as if this part of our DNA is longing to be filled with the Spirit of the Creator.

Is our DNA what connects us to the Lamb"s Book of Life? Will only those with spirit-filled DNA be those who enter heaven? I don't know. It is fun to think about these things. We have only just started to discover the wonder of our Creator. God is truly in ALL things.
