Standing Tall When You Want to Run
When I was a teenager my brother and his wife gave me this album as a Christmas gift. I wore it out. It was and probably still is my all time favorite. I always remembered the artwork on the front because of the strength it took to stand while everyone else was kneeling. I always wanted to be that strong.
If you don't know who Keith Green is, look him up. His story is amazing. He died too soon and left some great songs. I have posted one of my favorites on the Praise Corner Archive page. The lyrics below were written by his wife, Melody.
Imagine Jesus welcoming Keith to heaven with a big hug and "well done, man...love the music."
Make my life a prayer to you I wanna do what you want me to No empty words and no white lies No token prayers no compromise
I wanna shine the light you gave Through your son you sent to save us From ourselves and our despair It comforts me to know you're really there
Well I wanna thank you know For being patient with me Oh it's so hard to see When my eyes are on me I guess I'll have to trust And just believe what you say Oh you're coming again Coming to take me away
I wanna die and let you give Your life to me so I might live And share the hope you gave me The love that set me free
I wanna tell the world out there You're not some fable or fairy tale That I've made up inside my head You're God the son and you've risen from the dead
Well I wanna thank you now For being patient with me Oh it's so hard to see When my eyes are on me I guess I'll have to trust And just believe what you say Oh you're coming again Coming to take me away
I wanna die and let you give Your life to me so I might live And share the hope you gave me The love that set me free
Philippians 1:21 "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain."
Keith was my favorite as well and I have all his albums on CD, I introduced Bill to his songs and we have watched countless hours of his old “free” concerts online and listened to his and Melody’s testimonies.... 💜
